Human Centered Technology for one of the most human experiences.
Solace began as a research question, not a company.
During her Master’s in Simulation and Emergent Technologies, Sol’s work focused on how simulation systems shape human experience, not just technically, but emotionally and psychologically.
This led to a deeper question:
What happens when technology intersects with memory, presence, and grief?
Why this work
Rather than being driven by a single defining event, this work is shaped by a long-standing observation:
Technology has historically been designed for efficiency, scale, and optimisation.
Human emotional experiences do not follow those rules.
As more people turn to technology for support during vulnerable moments, the need for human-centred, ethically grounded systems becomes critical.
Creating Solace
Solace is being built to explore how technology can support:
Grief and emotional processing.
Legacy and memory preservation.
Continuity of presence.
This work is being approached with:
Clinical awareness.
Ethical restraint.
Deliberate design decisions.
A different approach to technology
Not everything that can be built should be built.
Solace is guided by the belief that:
Technology should support, not replace human connection.
Emotional experiences require boundaries, not optimisation.
Care should be prioritised over engagement.
Today
Solace is in active development, working toward early validation with clinicians and real-world users.
The focus is not speed, but building something that can exist responsibly in one of the most sensitive human spaces.
